Recruiting & hiring
A simple video screening workflow for recruiting agencies
Agencies live on throughput. The more qualified candidates you can move through screening without adding calendar time, the better the placement rate. A short video intro fits that constraint well — if you put it in the right place in the funnel.
Where the video sits
Best placement is after application, before the first live call:
- Candidate applies (resume / form)
- You send a short video request (link only, no account)
- You review on your own time
- Only strong fits get a screening call or client intro
What to ask for
Keep the prompt specific and short. Examples:
- “In 60 seconds, walk us through a project you’re proud of.”
- “Why this role, and what would you tackle in the first 90 days?”
- “Tell us about yourself and why you’re interested — keep it under 90 seconds.”
Always state the time limit. Without one, videos run long and the time savings disappear.
How the team reviews
One shared folder or sheet with the video link, role, and a simple score (yes / maybe / no) is enough. Avoid building a heavy process before you’ve run ten requests.
Tools that stay out of the way
Candidates should not need to install an app or create an account. A single link that opens the camera, blurs the background, and returns a shareable URL is usually enough. That’s the model Jikoreel uses.
